Buyer Alert
Don't buy this one.  It's FAKE!  Currently being sold on ebay as a Trimax.  Trimax doesn't make a Mini3000 and never has.  Anyone sending this meter in for repair will need to pay the return shipping to get it back.  It's not ours.  We can't warranty it.

FAKE Trimax
Recently it's been brought to our attention that some web sites claiming to sell our meters may be fraudulent!

We know of at least two incidents where people have sent payment by Western Union and have not received the meters they purchased.  One site in question shows a Paypal button but it doesn't work.  They will tell you it's temporarily not working and ask you to send your money by bank wire or Western Union.

"We purchased a SM-2500 through Satellite-finder. We placed the order and paid for the meter on June 30th 2008 and have confirmation that the Satellite-finder has received the funds. We sent payment through electronic payment with Western Union and have confirmed they have received it. Since payment has been received Satellite-finder has not shipped the SM-2500 and is not responding to our e-mails."

Don't take anyone's word that they are a reseller of our meters unless you know for certain that they are.  If you would like to become a reseller, click here.

"We were informed by Satellite-Finder that they were affiliated with you so we felt there was a less chance for fraud. We have contacted Western Union and they say that Satellite-Finder has received the funds. They are following up with this as a fraud matter but may not be able to do much."

If you send your money overseas by bank wire or Western Union there is little chance you can ever get it back.

Unless you know the company you are buying from:
  • Don't buy from sites that demand cash, bank wire, Western Union or other forms of payment that offer you no protection.
  • Don't buy from sites that don't show a contact phone number.  If they don't want you to know their phone number, you should think twice before buying from them.
  • Don't buy from sites that don't show a physical address.  They don't want you to know where they are?  Think about it.
  • NEVER give your credit card numbers to a company over the phone.  If you just said "Why not?" watch the news for several good reasons.
  • Don't think that just because a company is on eBay it makes them safe to buy from.  eBay has very little control over how companies conduct their business.
April 2009:  Another Chinese site is making similar claims.  They are sending emails claiming to be the manufacture.  They are not the manufacture.  m***satfinder.com has launched a massive email effort to sell meters using our pictures.  Most of the links on their site don't work.  We've tried to contact them using the phone number provided in their domain registration but found the phone number connects to someone who knows nothing about the meters or satellite.  The given address is falsified.  We contacted them by email but when we ask for a phone number we could reach them at, all contact stopped.

If you have similar problems please send us an email and let us know.

Trimax meters have become famous world wide.  Because of this, we are seeing companies who try to copy our meters.  While they may look the same on the outside, they are not Trimax meters and cannot be warrantied or serviced by Trimax.  They do not have Trimax firmware inside.
