Programming Tips
Caution:
Always power meter with provided power supply when upgrading software.  Keep your meter plugged in and powered until the upgrade is completed and the meter has rebooted and is showing the menu.  Do not move your meter during the process.  Failure to follow these instructions can cause damage to your meter.
***This process takes from 3 to 6 minutes.***
***DO NOT POWER DOWN YOUR METER UNTIL THE MENU APPEARS ON THE SCREEN.***

How do I load the meter?
Use the "Meter Tool" found on the software pages.  This tool interfaces with your meter for loading new operating software to the meter, downloading your satellite/channel list from the meter to your PC, and for uploading new or modified lists to your meter.  This tool also allows you to modify and save a list of satellites and channels.  The recently released V1.2 tool now allows you to add and delete satellite names.
Version Update
Version updates are done using the "Load software" button.  After the load completes, do a factory reset to load the satellites that are included in the version update.
Satellite Lists
Use the "Write parameters" button to load a different satellite list.  The list will appear in meter.  Doing a factory reset will erase the list.
Modify Transponders
Menu > Satellite Settings > Edit Satellites > choose your satellite and use the right arrow key to move to the transponder list.  Pick the transponder you want to modify and press "OK".  You are now able to change the parameters in the pop-up window.  After you change the settings, make sure you use the "Save" button to save them or the "Cancel" button to discard them.
Delete Channels
Menu > System setting > Delete Channels/OK > OK > Hightlight the channel you want to delete and press "OK" to put a "X" beside it.  If you want to delete all the channels, press "F2" to mark them all.

If you want to unmark the channel, highlight it and press "OK" to remove the "X".

When you are finished press "EXIT" and it will ask you to "Save" or "Cancel".  Pressing "Save" will delete the selected channels, pressing "Cancel" will exit without deleting any channels.
Things you should know.
There are a few simple things you need to know to make your meter recognize the satellite transponder you want.  If you have installed a FTA receiver, you will find the meter operates very much the same.
  1. The LO setting of the meter MUST match the LNBF you are using.
MAIN MENU > Satellite Setting > Dish Setup > LNB type
    • Enter the LO frequency of your LNB/F
  2. The transponder frequency, polarity, Symbol Rate (S/R) MUST be correct.
MAIN MENU > Satellite Setting > EDIT SATELLITES
    • Arrow up or down to find the satellite you want to work with
    • Right arrow to highlight the frequency, polarity, S/R
    • Arrow up or down to choose the frequency, polarity, S/R that you want
    • Press "OK" to open the Edit window, change each setting as needed using the keypad for frequency and S/R.  Use the right or left arrow to change the polarity setting
    • Highlight "Save" and press "OK"
If you have all the parameters of the meter correct, it should be a simple task to find a signal.  You can find all of the mentioned parameters at www.lyngsat.com.  If you don't understand how to read the charts, take a look at http://www.dmsiusa.com/charts.html.
