Scratched screen?
If you just bought a new meter you may notice that the screen looks scratched or bubbled.  This is actually the protective film that we use to protect the screen during the manufacturing process.  You can peel off this protective cover to reveal the glass like surface below.  The surface of the screen is actually very scratch resistant.

First time charging the battery
You should charge the battery a minimum of 5 hours the first time.
Upgrading to a new software or new satellite list?
Make sure your always power the meter using the provided AC power supply.  DO NOT unplug, disconnect or power down the meter until the loading of the software is complete.  Once it loads, the meter will re-boot and once again show the menu.  Once the menu appears, the meter is ready to use.
Version upgrades take 3 to 6 minutes or more.  List downloads usually take slightly less time.
Use any satellite name?
If you find you need to align to a satellite that's not in your meter, you can use any satellite name in the meter and edit the frequency, symbol rate and polarity of any transponder to match what you want.  The meter will work perfectly to find the information you've entered on the correct satellite.
Can't see the screen in bright sunlight?
All of our meter cases have a built in sun shade.  Use the velcro strips attached to the cover and the side of the case to position the cover to block the sun light making it easier to see your meter on bright days.
Removable "F" connector
We use a removable "F" connector on our meters because daily use can wear down the thread on your connector.  This way you can replace the "F" connector when needed.  The "F" connector should be only snug and not over tightened to avoid damage to the meter.
Blank Screen?
If your meter has a blank screen press the "F1" key located just below the power light.  F1 turns the display on and off.
Need to MUTE the audio?
Pressing F2 will mute and un-mute the audio of any program playing on your meter.
